There are many good instructional videos on YouTube for IMVU Developers. Give them a try!
HOW TO LEAVE A PRODUCT REVIEW:
When you get a spam message from an annoying developer asking to leave a review on a recently purchased product of theirs:
1. Locate the product image in your inventory.
2. In the upper left corner (it varies on each IMVU update) you will notice a black box.
3. Click on the black box and the product icon flips. Hit the link of the name of the product.
4. This launches the product page in a browser window.
5. Simply go to the bottom of the page and click the Leave Review button.
6. Enter in your review of the product and hit submit.
The developer is trying to score dev points which boosts their ratings. Also developer costs do get lowered somewhat, passing on the savings to you – hopefully.
It’s always a good idea to leave product reviews every week when you have the chance.
SHOULD YOUR PRODUCTS / TEXTURES BE STOLEN:
All questions or issues regarding copyright infringement must be directed to the DMCA department. Please contact them by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
DEVELOPING PRODUCTS YOU OWN THE MESH FOR:
When making products for shop, every product owns a mesh – the file that makes the product. You own it. Others can make from it. Slap a new coat of paint on, add an action trigger, etc.
There are some like FATHER (with no ethics or morals) who steals your product or graphic artwork, does not make any changes to your product or textures/artwork, does a huge markup in price, keeps it as derivable as if he owns it, keeps his “commission” if anyone else makes from it.
Here is his logfile as sent to me by a friend and developer, SargeTN:
Basically, he’s saying its perfectly OK to STEAL your work.
With that, if ALL developers made their own products NON-Derivable, that should solve this problem, Shopping would be pretty boring…. and pretty much do away with the Developer concept, no?
